+This delightful antique Scottish heart padlock is from the Victorian era, Circa 1860.
Scottish jewellery was made popular by Queen Victoria as it became a souvenir of her frequent trips to Scotland and her Scottish Castle Balmoral from the mid 1800s.
The lovely pendant is shaped like a heart and decorated in colourful Agates and detailed engraved patterns.
Agate is a strong mineral sometimes known as the earth rainbow for it’s patterned texture that shows varying colours the earth can produce.
The piece is set in 18ct Gold on Silver and features a lovely opening padlock at the top so the piece can be used as a pendant or as a fastener for a bracelet.
This is a lovely antique find and certainly one to be treasured!
